Grief and trauma are rampant everywhere. Dr Elam lives in Ky, attends the Spiritual Seekers program at Berea College and is especially concerned about the trauma being experienced by Appalachians of all ages, races, genders and cultures.

The Mountain Fiesta is a vibrant festival that celebrates Latino-Appalachian culture each fall in Cumberland Gap, Tennessee. Over the years, the festival has cultivated a community of students, artists, and community members dedicated to building relationships across different cultural backgrounds, languages, legal statuses, and beliefs through music and art. This session features a streaming of a documentary film that captures the Mountain Fiesta.
